I don't know that we have much choice in buying a Ford product around us. I know that you can go a little farther out about we tend to buy close to home here in Rhode Island. Mike got a new truck here. His last one was 15 years old so he certainly deserved a new one. The old one is going to be the farm truck and we're going to try to save the new one from the really heavy work for a while. Mike went there to buy a truck in September. Today is February 26 and he just picked it up today. His favorite color is blue. He ordered a denim blue truck with a lot of bells and whistles so that it is a step up from the last one. He certainly deserves that. He went and chose everything that he wanted in the new truck and placed a deposit. He never heard from Taska from September to February unless he initiated the call. When he got the call that the truck was in we went to look at it. We looked and looked for it but couldn't find the blue truck that he had ordered. We got the salesman to come out with us and show us where it was and it was really a black truck that, if you got really close to, and if the sun was shining, it looks kind of blue. Not what he expected at all. When we questioned it the salesman said that Ford had changed from the 2020 model to the 2021 model and change the colors as well. Never did we get a call saying that the colors would be changed so that we could choose which color we want it. We definitely would not have chosen the blue that doesn't look blue. Also the seat that was in the truck was the wrong seat. Most everything else was pretty much the same but Mike was so disappointed after waiting after waiting over five months for his truck that he would have to settle for a color he wasn't crazy about and the style of seats that he did not order. The choice was that he would have to wait at least two months we were told for him to get one exactly the way he wanted it. He had waited long enough. At no time during those months was he told that the truck would come in as a newer model nor was he told of any changes to the original order. When he called to ask when his truck was going to be in each time he had to leave a message and get a call returned. There was no communication that was initiated from Tasca and that was the biggest disappointment of them all. Even to the point where Mike had settled on this truck and had the check to buy it he had to wait an additional week because some employees had family members with Covid. Of course that is a good reason to stay home if you have been exposed. I was just surprised that they didn't jump on this and get someone to do the work. It surprised me that only these two men were able to spray on the bed liner. So we waited over a week for that and Mike kept calling and calling and calling. He wanted to go in and do all the paperwork ahead of time so that when he went to pick up the truck it would be done. He gave the salesman that message but we never heard anything from them. It's a nice truck and he will love it. Had we known that this is what he would have experienced buying it from Tasca we would definitely have taken the trip to buy it somewhere else.
