What an unbelievably awful experience. We drove an hour to see a car and from beginning to end the salespeople treated us as if we were uneducated, small, and naive. We had an appointment with Doug but they sent out Cannon to show us the car which was fine - but I'll get to why that's matters in a second. Unfortunately trying to have a conversation with Cannon proved to be pointless as all he did was repeat his same selling point again and again and refused to acknowledge the reason the price was lowered was because of a massive hole in the bumper. We could barely get a word in regardless. He used the tactics of overtalking, scarcity of used cars, and car fax national average values for a sale. But when we finally discussed price he had no room to budge, and we pushed back a bit, asking for a break in price due to the body work that would be needed. He told us that was the absolute lowest that was possible and they'd be losing money on the car. We asked if there was a second key, after looking he came back to us with no second key, but with $400 off the car price. We asked if that was to make up for the lost second key which we'd need to replace, but instead he insisted it was to make our deal better and to "give miss boss lady a break." My partner and I are equals. We make big financial decisions together and trying to single me out as "miss boss money lady" doesn't belong in 2022. Upon trying to have the conversation that the only reason for the discount was due to us then having to spend this money on a key, Doug appears after apparently listening in, bringing all his talking points with a price comparison sheet trying to show why he's giving us the best deal. Never introduced himself, never said hello, just comes out as the closer. After talking in circles about how there's nothing that can be done, he says he'll take $250 off with a handshake. Then stands up looks at Cannon, says "ring them up" like we were in Pawn Stars which left me spinning. I felt sick to my stomach. Here we were trying to have a normal conversation about trying to buy a car we wanted, and I was so frustrated by the entire interaction that I actually left the dealership in tears with my partner walking out after me. This was not the way I wanted to buy a car, being bullied, belittled, not heard, and not respected. My partner went back in to get our keys so we could leave. As I stayed outside, Doug said "Sorry we upset your girlfriend, I could take another $200 off it it would make her happy." He shut his mouth, grabbed his keys, and we drove back home in shock at how gross that entire experience was. Worst car buying experience ever.
