Short version is I accidentally left an iphone at Tasca car dealership. They called me to tell me I had left it in a vehicle. I also received an email from the sales man that I could come in and pick up the phone and look at more used Volvos. When I arrived I stated I was not interested in purchasing a used Volvo and simply wanted my phone. I was polite and thanked him but stated I was set on a specific model Mercedes . The sales man then said well I don't have your phone. He walked away saying I wasted his time. The gril who called me stated she gave it to the salesman. The salesman stated he never received it and denied the voicemail message that I played for the Tasca family member. The salesman also refused to check his desk . I asked to speak with the manager Tony who I was told would not be in until Monday. (This was late Saturday) At this point I was pressured by the Tasca family member who was present not to go to the Cranston police and they gave assurances they would replace the phone. All I had to do was wait until Monday morning and it would be resolved. Tasca and Tony Parente requested all kinds of information which was provided including emails and a voice message indicating the salesman had it . I even showed them a location report indicating the phone was on the location. I find it strange now that I was continually asked not to goto the police by Bob Tasca. The main reason I did not was I thought they would simply take care of it and I wanted to believe it was not stolen. Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you know someone stole your property and when you confront them you can simply see it in their eyes? Tasca has not replaced the phone and actually stated that since I did not purchase a vehicle from them there was nothing they could do. That is verbatim!
