Despite my vast reduction in driving since the pandemic began, it was time for an oil change. How is it always time for an oil change?! Normally, I handle the maintenance but with most of my time and energy dedicated to my job in healthcare, I decided to bring it somewhere. I heard through the grapevine Tasca Mazda was offering free oil changes to healthcare workers and so, I called for an appointment. Within a couple days of my call, I had something on the calendar. Time was needed to order the filter needed for my car make/model. I was pleased though to find they were in fact offering free oil changes... I am truly grateful. A nice gesture in these difficult times. After going through the paperwork and the registration, I was a bit surprised to hear that the oil change was going to take 2+ hours. In the past, I've not spent more than an hour anywhere for this service and was not entirely thrilled at the idea of sitting in their waiting area with my mask on for that length of time. I have to wear it all day at work and I need some mask-free hours during the day. Had I known ahead of time when making the appointment, I would have made alternate plans for pickup. I decided to keep the appointment and wait for a ride. My service representative did his best to get the car complete as quickly as possible and was very communicative throughout the process. A more comprehensive overview at the time of the appointment would have solved this unexpected estimate. There was an unnecessary delay in picking up my car as it was somehow listed under my maiden name despite registering under my married one. Overall, a decent experience with some areas for improvement to streamline the process for their customers. I do fully appreciate the complimentary service... thanks for keeping my car on the road so I can get to work each day!
